Back Pain Treatment: Real Relief for Disc Problems and Muscle Spasms Starts Here
At Facca Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Robert Facca, understands just how incredibly debilitating chronic back pain can be. Disc problems and muscle spasms can make daily activities painful, prevent you from sitting comfortably at work, and make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. More than half of all working Americans have back pain symptoms each year, and lower back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide. You are not alone in your search for effective pain relief! Chiropractic care is an effective treatment for chronic back pain that directly addresses the underlying trigger for your pain while providing immediate symptom relief.
Understanding the causes for lower and upper back pain
Many back pain treatment options rely on medication or surgery. Unfortunately, neither of these options truly delivers effective pain relief. Surgery is risky and invasive; for some patients, surgery can actually lead to more complications and even greater pain. Pain medication is limited in its effectiveness. Medication works by numbing the brain’s ability to perceive pain. Once the drugs wear off, the pain will return. Chiropractic care is different. Our chiropractor does not “cover up” a patient’s pain with drugs or mask symptoms for temporary relief. Instead, gentle, precise adjustments correct the underlying subluxations that are responsible for your back pain.
For many patients, the root cause of back pain is a spinal subluxation. Subluxations can be caused by an accident injury like whiplash, a herniated or slipped disc, poor posture, and natural wear and tear. When the spine is partially out of alignment, the misaligned vertebra can compress nearby nerves and muscles, triggering pain. This misalignment can also lead to tension that triggers muscle spasms. Chiropractic adjustments are safe, effective treatment for bringing correct alignment back to the spine.
Back pain prevention and spinal support
Incorrect posture is one of the most common causes for chronic back and neck pain. Dr. Facca works closely with each patient to address postural issues, including poor office ergonomics. For example, small adjustments to the height of your office chair or the placement of your computer and keyboard can reduce lower back compression and cervical spine strain, reducing back pain symptoms. Proper posture while sleeping also matters. If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your legs to keep your spine properly aligned and reduce tension in the lower back. If you sleep on your back, place a pillow under your calves to gently elevate your legs and better support the spine.
