Repetitive stress caused by actions such as typing on a computer and more acute trauma caused by events like an auto accident injury can both cause back pain. While most people will experience some sort of back pain at some point in time, there are several things you can do to avoid or reduce it. At Facca Chiropractic Clinic, we suggest:
Exercise. Those who get regular exercise have healthier spines and experience less back pain. Try a combination of stretching, strength training and aerobic activity. Thirty minutes a day at least five times a week is a good place to start.
Lose weight. If you are overweight, your spine is forced to support a greater mass than it was designed for. The strain can cause back and neck pain. Getting down to your ideal weight will cause less stress on your spine, and help you feel better.
Visit Dr. Facca. Chiropractic treatment can help reduce back pain. Dr. Facca will devise a regimen of treatment specially tailored to you and your symptoms. Regular adjustments can help you stay pain-free.
Practice good posture. When you slouch, you pull your back out of alignment, and put extra strain on the muscles in your back. Over time, this can cause excruciating back pain. By maintaining good posture, you will reduce the stress on those muscles.
Get a good night's sleep. A good quality mattress can make all the difference in the world. You should be able to lie in a natural position in order to avoid pressure and strain while you sleep. Also, make sure that you are getting enough sleep. Fatigue exacerbates pain. If you are not getting enough sleep, any physical maladies you are suffering will feel more acute.
